Caregivers
Unitech’s Live-in Caregivers Course is a 785 hour training program. The course teaches students how to live in a western home and look after children, the elderly or people with disabilities. The course covers a range of topics including:
- Health Care
- Age Care
- Childcare
- Abuse
- First aid
- Nutrition
- Food preparation
- Basic Cookery
- Household Management
- English communication
- Interpersonal skills
- An Overview of Western Politics, Geography and Social Structure
One of the major benefits of being a fully qualified Live-in Caregiver is that it provides a pathway of immigrating to Canada. After a minimum of 2 years full-time work as a Live-in Caregiver in Canada, a foreign worker may apply for Permanent Residence.
Minimum entry requirements for this course:
• A complete high school education (e.g. Local “A” Levels, London “A” Levels, or equivalent).
Course Timetable:
• Full time: Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 5:30pm. Optional Demonstration Classes are run on Weekends
After completing Unitech’s course students will receive:
• An internationally recognised City & Guilds Specialist Diploma in Health Care (Optional - Exam Fee Required)
• An internationally recognised Red Cross Certificate in First Aid
• A Unitech Caregivers Programme Diploma registered with the TVEC under P01/0412.
